The HDR Cervix Applicators are identical in design as the manual Modified Henschke Cervix Applicator. Ovoids, 20 mm in diameter are designed with tungsten shields placed anterior and posterior to provided shielding to bladder and rectum. Tungsten shields can be replaced with plastic fillers if so desired. Tandems, 6/3 mm in diameter of which 3 are provided, are straight, medium and maximum curved. The tandem floats between the ovoids which may require packing. A bracket similar to the Fletcher Applicator is used to make the connection between Colpostats and Tandem.

Both VariSource and GammaMed HDR Cervix Applicators are identical with the exception of the connecting component to the Afterloaders.
The Hilaris-Nori HDR Cervix Applicator in a Manchester System containing shielded Ovoids. The tandem and colpostats are permanently connected by a mechanical "scissor-type" bracket. This feature allows the separation of Ovoids while keeping the tandem centered between them. Additionally, the distance of Ovoid separation can be read off the diamond shaped windows located on top of the applicator. The tandem's intrauterine component is 3 mm diameter and provided, straight, medium and maximum curved. Also, a safety bracket is attached to avoid an accidental change in ovoid spacing during HDR treatment.
Ovoid spacing: 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 2.0 and 4.5 cm.
